The end of the school year can be complicated. There are so many things to tackle – from report cards to packing up the entire classroom. However, there is one activity/event that I have been doing for the past 2 years that I (and my students) REALLY love. Basically, is putting together an event that showcases many of the things students have been learning throughout the year in an interactive way. And the word interactive is KEY. Students create games and hands-on activities that will engage not only their classmates but also other students across the school.
Just as the names states it, the even is a fair – a state fair that is! Students work on projects that will depict a specific subject they are interested in ‘teaching’ others. I will let the pictures speak for themselves (this post contains pictures from 2 different state fairs). And oh!…parents LOVE IT. They treasure seeing their children taking ownership of their own learning. This event makes everyone proud.
